It's not the actually "lender/Mortgage person" It's the actual bank that holds the loan. In california, you can go to a title office and see who holds the note. Even at the county records that info should be there. let me know

We tried the title company, the county assessor's office and the escrow company. The original lender is no longer in business and no one can tell us who services the loan right now. We have requested the listing agent for the contact of the lender but so far we have not received the information (they do not seem very keen to providing us that information).

The lender on title or in the tax record might not be the current owner/servicer of the loan. Probably best to ask the listing agent, like Carol-Lynne said.

The seller's agent should have this info - he/she is going to need it the second there is an offer on the property. Your agent should ask the seller's agent who the lender is.

I do have an agent and so far she could find out that the original lender is no longer in business and that the loan was transferred to another lender, unfortunately the title company cannot tell us which other lender.
Anyone that can help me when I provide the address?

Do you have an agent? If so he or she should be able to provide you the information or you can go to the county assessor's office and find out. Or if you have a contact with a title company they can pull it up as well.
