Wow Jim, that is completely asinine for a real estate agent to keep a buyer (or seller) on the hook who does not want to work with them. I'm really sorry. These bad seeds give all real estate agents a bad name. I would urge you to contact his broker directly. Often times the broker has a level head in an uneasy situation. Many times, if you read some of these contracts, the broker is actually the party you are contracting with, not the agent. Hopefully this agent is not the broker too.

Hopefully this experience hasn't soured your house hunt. Like I had posted before, there are many excellent buyer's representatives that will give you fantastic service with no contract.

Positive has nothing to do with finding an Agent. Question do you pick Linda "pick me pick me" (sounds cheery, happy... positive, full of knowledge?) or choice number 2 - Azrob?... (very blunt, extremely educated on market economics and will give you the pros and cons to both the buying and selling within the market to the detriment of a potential sale)... hmmm.

As an Agent that is looking for RE product throughout the West Coast, the first person I emailed when I knew I had clients looking in Tacoma/Phoenix.... Azrob.

Point to the story. Agents attitude should have nothing to do with having someone who will watch out for you. It might make your buying experience pleasant to have a "cheery" Agent, but just because the Agent has a smile on her face doesn't mean she's not screwing you in the end.

Tell each one you are interviewing and will make your decision later.

You will soon come to a point where this knowledge can guide you.

It is then your instincts will prompt you to hire.

Wow, that is really a shame for the agent do to that to you. It is this type of agent who gives other agents who are hard working and honest a bad reputation.

You might want to try meeting and interviewing your next agent by going to open houses. The agents who sits at open houses are not necessarily the listing agent, but a buyer's agent.
