OT I know, but I am sorry to hear that titan. I have been following the thread myself and didn't see anything. It seemed like most replies by you and others were polite, fairly respectful and well controlled discussion about the subject. I had seen no offensive comments. I often learn things when others discuss their perspective, but I know that in the past the discussion on the issue got pretty hot.

Some states have programs of their own, but the FHA still requires a 3.5% down payment from other sources other than the buyers tax credit. However, a new change from FHA will allow the $8000 credit to be used upfront for closing expenses. You can read more about it here.

I'm under the impession that the buyers must still bring 3.5%. The other option, I think, is for a third party to do the bridge. In my understanding f.h.a. itself will not be the bridge. I'm hoping a mortgage pro clears this up for all us.

I am sorry that last time you had this discussion with someone that they didnt know the reason for those values. I hope I can help you, as while I dont understand all things, all the values that come to mind that occur in the Bible, I can give you good reasons that they are important.
