valueChange duration="30" could be one of the more interesting and important attributes. How much load could be saved by removing a couple of nodes?
There are a lot more effective methods of reducing server load. Caching your data would give much better performance for everyone calling the webservice as well as reduce the load on your server significantly.

this is presumably a response to the adverse economic climate, and people wishing to avoid negative reinforcements. very Pollyanna-ish.

I think that's bogus. Zillow needs to be about reality, not about avoiding it.
I don't object to extending the period of change; say, to 90 days.

removing "last updated" field would markedly diminish the credibility of Zillow's information because of its timeliness and currency.

If you're going to get rid of it I'd like to suggest you first announce an update where those fields won't be available for a week and then go a week where you have both of those fields just have default values .... 0% change and last updated NOW. And do it using an alternative feature such as Webster.net suggests.

Why not just leave the feature in with your existing GetChartAPI, keep it it with GetZestimate (otherwise why else call ZEstimate if not for specificly Zestimate data), leaving this API call separate for those who really "must have" it. Then everyone who makes the larger API calls but never uses 30-day and LastUpdated can just get the performance benefit.
