They might give you some idea if buying now would be an attainable goal or if you need to save up some for a down payment first. Ownership costs include more than the mortgage payment and things like taxes, insurance and maintenance have to be included in your budget up front so you will be able to comfortably afford what you buy. Do some research, talk to the lenders on the board and then you will have a better idea of what step you need to take to get on the road to ownership if that's what you want.
