Roberto - You paint a gloomy picture for our future. Many times in our history ie: The Great Depression, World War I, World War II, The Korean War, The Cold War, etc. etc. etc. the sitution seemed hopeless. Yet, something happened and we made it through. Please keep Hope alive.

total bs. most reworked mortgages involve:
1. pushing late payments and fees onto the back end of the loan.
2. temporary rate reduction and or freeze.
3. extending the term of the loan, out to a max of 40 years.
4. Praying that home values go up in the next few years!

this was actually tried in japan, and now many of these modified loans with 10 year lower payments are resetting. Guess what? prices are still down, so the homes are defaulting.

In a sense, this is a new form of toxic temporary low payment option loan; good luck with that! Without job growth, housing will never come back so this simply delays the inevitable.
