Working with a REALTOR can make your life easier. They do have the options to sift through properties and eliminate the ones that are short sales. You can get a more condensed list of properties that match your criteria. There are many, many properties for sale that are not short sales and are equal to or below the asking price for the short sales. The properties that are priced right are selling quickly. Working with your REALTOR and a motivated seller is much easier to negotiate price, terms, repairs, etc and ultimately get you the keys to your new home quicker and hassle free! Short sales come off the same real estate info feed as private sales or REO's. I don't think Zillow has a way to separate them, but hopefully they will see your suggestion.
