I agree someone will have to inspect the repairs. Usually it is the appraiser.

Try to be as available as possible and call the appraiser ASAP after he leaves a message. Their schedules fill up fast.

either the appraiser or an FHA fee inspector can sign off on the repairs. If the appraiser is busy, then sometimes the fee inspector could be the faster choice.
