The Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines.

The New Haven line runs basically parallel to to I-95. You'll find stops in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk etc, right up to New Haven. It depends on how far you want to commute. It's always a trade-off between home prices and distance. The closer you are to NYC, the more you'll pay for housing. If you are commuting to Manhattan, check out the schedules and times. THIS LINK should take you to a Metro North Map. The New Haven line and it's branches are in RED.

One of the branches splits off at Norwalk and runs north as far as Danbury.

The other option would be to live in the Danbury area (prices are very affordable and drive about 15 minutes to Brewster NY and take the Harlem Line which is in BLUE on the map. There are a great many Danbury residents who do this. The SOUTHEAST station near Brewster has a huge parking lot and it's a starting point for many of the commuter trains which means you'll be able to get a seat.

In Danbury we have some great homes available at great prices.

If I can be of any specific help to you, give me a shout.

Good luck

Rick Schwartz
William Raveis Real Estate
Danbury, CT.

email: Rick@RickSchwartzHomes.com

Sun, 19 Jul 2009 23:33:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/where-in-can-i-buy-a-house-in-connecticut-that-is-very-close-to-metro-north-railroad/252753/ 2009-07-19T23:33:00Z There are also stations in ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/where-in-can-i-buy-a-house-in-connecticut-that-is-very-close-to-metro-north-railroad/252753/ There are also stations in Greenwich, Stamford, Danbury, Redding (I think), I'm not sure about Fairfield and Wilton, but I believe there are stations there as well.

I can show you any home in Fairfield County. I can also search the towns you might be interested in and send you e-mails, so if you're interested give me a call or shoot me an e-mail:

Maureen Sovern
Nationwide Realty
(203) 426-3000 - Office
(203) 788-4014 - Cell
e-mail: YourFriendMaureen@gmail.com Tue, 07 Jul 2009 21:17:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/where-in-can-i-buy-a-house-in-connecticut-that-is-very-close-to-metro-north-railroad/252753/ 2009-07-07T21:17:00Z I believe there are lots ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/where-in-can-i-buy-a-house-in-connecticut-that-is-very-close-to-metro-north-railroad/252753/ I believe there are lots of locations along the shore-line. New Haven probably being the most popular. Here is a great post that may help you.

If you decide to buy in the New Haven or shore-line area, give me a shout.

http://ask.metafilter.com/54390/Best-place-to-grab-Metro-North-in-CT Sat, 04 Jul 2009 17:07:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/where-in-can-i-buy-a-house-in-connecticut-that-is-very-close-to-metro-north-railroad/252753/ 2009-07-04T17:07:00Z
