I told my hubby if we take the house off the market that we are going to use some of our money that we have been saving up and go to one of the really nice resorts in town for the weekend!!!! I need that treat after all of this! We did just get a call for a showing today. So, I better clean the place up really nice because who the heck knows if we will get another one any time soon????

I think a lot of us are in the same boat. Same thing happening here. We had a good amount of traffic up until 2 weeks ago. Generally about 1 showing per day. Then it just stopped - right as we made the last price drop. About $12k. We felt like we were so close - but I don't think there is any traffic anywhere in this area at this point. I don't see anything going under contract - even the really low priced homes. I really don't think at this point it is even about price. 30 yr rates are going back up and people are really nervous. Even with the train to NYC within walking distance, the beach, great schools - none of it really seems to matter right now. We are actually at a point where we are just so burned out on the whole mess that we are wondering if we ever want to attempt to own again.

Was that you mckylie with the picture of the raccoon in a box with the subprime loan? I loved that - and you know - would a box really be so bad if you threw a bathroom and some insulation in there?? I hate to cook, so a kitchen isn't really necessary...

It's just too frustrating ...

It's just too frustrating for me. Every day that goes by I get almost angry that we don't get a showing. It was "fun and exciting" when we were getting multiple showings a week. I feel like we are putting our life on hold while we are on the market. There are changes that we are going to make to our house if we don't sell. Putting our life on hold wouldn't be so bad if we had reason to hope. But right now we don't so it will be best to just move on in a month if something doesn't change!

Mckylie: we feel the same way, maybe go off the market if traffic doesnt pick up. Although it's easier to stay the on market w/o any showings! HA!

Dave - if we were getting the kind of traffic we were a month and 1/2 ago I wouldn't mind it and would keep it on the market. Keep your head up - hopefully one of those showings you are having will turn into something good!!!

Wannagonow - Not sure at this point. 1 showing since the price drop 2 weeks ago. If it doesn't pick up soon it's not worth it. I guess we will see what happens within the next few weeks and make the decision at the last minute! We are having an Open House Saturday but so far have not had big turn outs at them so I don't even get too excited about them!

I am in that situation too. I have had so many people come look at my home it is not funny, I feel like a museum. I need to put down plastic runners or I will just have a warn path. But still none of them buy.
