Zillow Advice: Home Selling - How did buyers find the home they purchased in 2009? Must read for all sellers! http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/How-did-buyers-find-the-home-they-purchased-in-2009-Must-read-for-all-sellers/353175/ Zillow Advice | Zillow Real Estate "An interesting read for ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/How-did-buyers-find-the-home-they-purchased-in-2009-Must-read-for-all-sellers/353175/ "An interesting read for buyer's agents who demand big commissions - only 36% of the houses, slightly more than 1/3, were found by the hard working agents."

Which is why I personally believe agents should be doing more advertising to get buyers in the door to look at open houses. By not, all they are doing is protecting the commission structure where only agents have control of the amount paid to the buyers agent. Since 64% of buyers are finding the house they buy themselves, it really makes you wonder why it costs 3% just to babysit the transaction. This survey was designed to make FSBO's drop out so agents can get paid. The NAR is as accurate in their surveys as a crap sandwich is when used as a compass.
