Zillow Advice: Mortgage Rates - how come nobody answers when i call? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/how-come-nobody-answers-when-i-call/363595/ Zillow Advice | Zillow Real Estate Gee, I did not mean to cause ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/how-come-nobody-answers-when-i-call/363595/ Gee, I did not mean to cause such a controversy by recommending the biggest Lenders in the nation for a rate check, and I certainly had no intention of "trashing" anyone else. I think everyone lost sight of the original question, which was why no answer when trying to get a "Zillow rate". I was just trying to clarify that Zillow is not a Lender, and somehow that got transformed into a whole bunch of interpretations that were not intended.

Sorry about that. For all we know, it could easily have been a Bank of America or Wells rep that mreinschmidt tried to call. One can also email any lender on Zillow. Yahui, thanks for detailing your 3 quotes, you ended up with great terms. Thu, 26 Aug 2010 02:18:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/how-come-nobody-answers-when-i-call/363595/ 2010-08-26T02:18:00Z If you don't have to, I wouldn't ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/how-come-nobody-answers-when-i-call/363595/ If you don't have to, I wouldn't call a bank directly. Working with a wholesale lender is probably a better use of your time.

A Zillow lender offered me a much better rate than calling the banks directly. I called Citi (my current lender) for a 30yr / refi / freddie back / 80-95% LTV / +800 credit score and was offered 5.375% + $2000 cc. A local bank offered 4.857% + $3000 cc. I locked with a Zillow lender at 4.375% + $2100 cc. What he did say is:

Zillow Mortgage Marketplace only has real lenders providing real quotes on it.

All the lenders you list, with the exception of Chase( they may too), quote on Zillow and they are not " advertisements, they are exact quotes based on the parameters the borrower enters. Borrowers getting quotes contact the lender and if the lender changes the terms, then a 1/5 rating pops up saying they were baited and switched or better yet, they post a thread telling everyone what the evil doer did. Geoffrey is stating fact as to how the site runs, you are stating idiotic conjecture.

To further show your lack of touch with reality, you trash the Zillow lenders, most of which are very experienced local lenders yet endorse the worst of the worst. You completely missed the original concept of Zillow which was connecting local local lenders with clients. You don't understand the simple premise of delivering individual tailored quotes. Just because your outdated, over priced, out of touch broker that you have used for the last 30 years cannot compete with those that use technology to deliver a superior product, does not mean that others don't deliver every day on what is quoted here. What is most amazing is that you then endorse the likes of AimLoan and Quicken, some of the lenders with the worst reputations on the internet. By the looks of your "website" it's obvious that you don't do much business so it stands to reason that you have no clue what actually goes on in the industry, and you would be best served to shut it in the future on issues you lack the education about. That would mean anyone quoting here from that state would be far more qualified than you, and qualified to do your job for you as well as their own. Unless you can produce a NMLS ID Mr Sefton, I suggest you stick to what you know. It is the loan officer that should be recommending the agent to work with as they have the education, knowledge and licensing in both fields; not the other way around. Anyone that would recommend AimLoan and Quicken has no clue what they are talking about. And anyone that thinks that someone that obtains clients via the internet, becomes an "internet lender" shows their true ignorance in the appropriate use of technology! I guess if you pick up the phone to call your clients, that makes you a telemarketer. Which if I were you, I would seriously look into based on your demonstrated knowledge base.
