Zillow Advice: Success Stories - Door knocking - any success? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Door-knocking-any-success/435093/ Zillow Advice | Zillow Real Estate I was the person who had ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Door-knocking-any-success/435093/
I was the person who had the most fear about door knocking. Not because I was fearful of talking to folks but because I wanted to be certain I was well versed before setting out. Well I finally decided to enlist the help of realtor who is a 12 million a year top producer and she told me that her only method for gaining leads is through door knocking. Her and I spend a lot of time walking neighborhoods. So far so good as we are generating leads. The time goes fast because we are talking as we walk and are having a great time during the course of our efforts. Sometimes people don't want to talk, that's okay - no pressure there. Never chase people is one of our rules and a good one. It's all about working the numbers so keep knocking and eventually you will find one that says, "wow funny you showed up at my door at this moment, I was just thinking to sell my house." People are people and a lot of them like to talk and nothing to be afraid of. Although my partner did mention that one lady called the cops on her. We don't make an issue out of it, if they don't want to talk then keep moving. The grumpy ones are the ones you don't want on your follow up list, and that's okay. It really is prospecting and you will find those gold nuggets sometimes just behind the next front door. So let's stop making excuses, stop beating around the bush. Find a partner if you need to and get out there. Like I said, I was one scared puppy about this but now I have found my nitch. I like this strategy for doing business. Some peeps are better at cold calling, some better at door knocking, some have unlimited cash resources and can mail ads to their hearts content. I have heard that 1000 cold calls gets the same results as 500 door knocks. So if your new at the real estate game and are tired wasting advertising dollars on all the scams of our industry and cold calling is not your bag, get on the mls, find the hottest market in your area and start knocking! P.S. DONT LISTEN TO THE NAY SAYERS. THEY ARE ALL SCARED TO DOOR KNOCK! P.S.S. I hate the word "Salesman." I think it morphed over the years into "Scammer." It's great that some states have dropped the dirty "Salesman" word. "Broker" works for me!! :)
Mon, 19 May 2014 03:18:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Door-knocking-any-success/435093/ 2014-05-19T03:18:00Z I works i have gotten many ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Door-knocking-any-success/435093/ I works i have gotten many clients from it! However, I believe the only reason some are sceptical knocking on doors is the thoughts going through our minds of the unknown. Having just started in the real estate industry recently, I try not to take it personal when someone tells me to go away or just simply NO! I look at it as a service I am offering that some will need, and some will not need. I also believe it has alot to do with our approach/attitude. Of course it does not hurt that I love meeting people.

Desperate or a waste of time? I think not! It's all about our mind set!

Great success to you :) Mon, 03 Jun 2013 14:18:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Door-knocking-any-success/435093/ 2013-06-03T14:18:00Z I won't door knock in a solicitous ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Door-knocking-any-success/435093/ I won't door knock in a solicitous manner because I don't like sales people coming to my door.

I find it very effective to engage people who are already outside of their house especially if you are viewing a neighbors house for sale. It's also an effective way to work your farm. I walk for exercise and I engage people in the neighborhood. Most times I never even talk about real estate but will bring it up if there is an opportunity. I also think it's ok to meet the neighbors if you are listing a house.

Some people may not like real estate agents but almost everyone I meet likes talking about real estate. Door knocking is my great friend and nemisis. It works! So, why don't I do it more? I agree with all the negative things that can be said. I think them and I feel them. That is why I can't think about it. When I knock doors I get listings. When I think about knocking doors, I get guilt and nothing. To ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Door-knocking-any-success/435093/ I don`t know about it. To me it seems a bit intrusive and desperate. Maybe in some small communities that you actually live it makes sense to do this as a part of introducing yourself to others....
