I think you should plan on having your blog for at least a year before you dig into it. I really enjoy blogging and it seems to be a great tool for real estate agents and lenders alike! Good luck.

I think it depends why you want to do it. I think there are faster, more efficient ways to get leads. Blogging may work against you if you spend too much time doing it.

Blogging isn't for everyone. I happen to enjoy it. Some find it painful. If you don't enjoy it, you likely won't stick with it.

It does take time. But it is clearly a viable way to get prospects, clients and exposure.

What to blog about? The list is practically endless. Start by reading other established real estate blogs -- that can give you an idea of what can be done with a blog. If you comment on other agent blogs, and link to them, you can steadily build a readership. I now get more traffic, and better search engine rankings, with my blog than I do with my main website.

Blogging makes those of us who neglected in getting something published years ago in paper print, do it now online. There are so many blog sites that are useful to agents: wannanetwork, activerain, reliberation, myspace, and on and on.
