Plano, Texas - just outside of Dallas. The market is picking up, inventory is down. We are getting many multiple offers!
I specialize in all aspects of residential real estate, and cover the DFW area.
Prices in North Texas are holding. We did not experience the big escalations that were prevelent in much of the country, so we are not feeling the pinch quite as badly. Home prices are down a bit, but it's pretty much leveled off. You get a lot for your money in North Texas!

It amazes me that though many parts of the country are having turndown times with real estate, our areas here are booming. Many here are in a panic mode and that is a plus for investors and those seeking low priced homes. I work many old historical towns and smaller farm towns here and property and homes are going at great low prices.

Property for building homes and hunting land is abundant here, as well as farms and small homes for those wanting to downsize or just a place to invest, and the great thing about Tennessee is not state income tax and many places property taxes are low, so that is an incentive in its self!

Erik Hitzelberger and I am a real estate agent in the Louisville KY area. I primarily work in SE Louisville and Bullitt County (Shepherdsville and Mt Washington). Home sales are down by 20% year over year, but prices are flat to up slightly (~3%). Looking ahead, I don't expect any significant change until late next year or early 2010.

The business is going steady, I do however expect to see a robust pick up this spring since the job market in this area is GREAT. Texas according to the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M says Texas will receive about 13.6 million people to our are between now and 2030. That is going to be huge growth spurt. Come on with the new roads...: )
