The thing that BUGS me to no end is there has never been an actual reason NOT to let all the banks fail.

Let them ALL go into chapter 11, and sell off the assets to new investors who start new banks. Meanwhile the FED pumps out money for main st all day long to keep the credit moving.

Problem solved. Why do they have to keep these corrupt banks AFLOAT while trying to keep homeowners stuck in debtors prison so the bank doesnt have to write down the loss is simply upside down and NEEDS TO STOP.

i think its because ebay cant differentiate minors from non minors(i got an account @ 15 with a prepaid creditcard and a bank acct) but it could be the whole "social conscience" thing

i really wanted to clarify: japan "did nothing" as in allowing insolvent lending institutions to continue lending... we wont do that kind of nothing. but we arent as far away from the japanese model as you might think... we still arent forcing banks to take their writedowns and we still are not actively reviewing the books, so far the only banks to fail did so because no one would do buisness with them. there was no trust. but paying off the bad debt because the taxpayers didnt, this is no better a way to prevent what happened in japan.

I tend to lean toward a gun for every occasion. First line of defense is get em way out, a good .338 or 7mm. If they get by that, then it's M-16 time, and lots of it. Coming through the door, nothing, NOTHING beats a short barrel 12 gauge loaded to the max with single O buck. The .45 semi auto is for the real close and up personal stuff.

22's? OMG, I would never use such a little calaber. 38 hollow point is about the smallest I'll go. I prefer a 45. Honestly, if I ever have to use it, I FULLY expect that with one shot the person attacking me can't move one single step more towards me. Lots of people have survived 22's. Plus, I want to save the other 5 shots for anyone else coming towards me. Lastly, I prefer revolvers for me, and shotguns for above the doors. Ok, so I'm down right mean when it comes to protection. --But if ya gotta do it, ya better do a darn good job!

Sir Allen, with what?, toy guns? Ebay doesn't allow guns and ammo.

I was in Sportsmans warehouse the other day and the lines were unreal, guns, ammo, components...flying out the door. Kind of nuts really. I suppose you can make a case that BO will probably raise the exsise taxes and force the price up, and probably ban semi auto's of anykind at some point, so if one intends to have one, now would be a good time. If they fear that BO would take their guns away, I can only ask who will do that deed? If you are concerned about general chaos, I don't know. I used to think that this country was above that, but after what I saw in New Orleans, I'm not so sure it is. Depressions can get pretty ugly and with the masses that are unable to do for themselves anymore, I would definetly be prepared to survive.
