Any time water is involved sooner or later it will find a way to get on the floor. With tile you simply wipe it up, with wood if you do not catch it quickly it can be costly. Most people while looking at houses pick up on this as well. I hope this helped. It is available in styles that look like tile to styles that look like scraped wood. It is easier on the feet and when you get tired of it is less expensive to replace. The 5 MM is quite durable, I would think long and hard about the thiner ,cheaper 3 and 2 mm of you might as well buy linoleum. I think if you do hardwood you will get tired of it and if you do a dark stain on it that may be to much going on in the room. I love the ceilings, they are beautiful so,let them stand out and do a nice neutral tile on the floor. Good luck! Would love to see pictures once your are finished.
