Zillow Advice: Home Selling - what is the future of real estate? http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/what-is-the-future-of-real-estate/507499/ Zillow Advice | Zillow Real Estate The market was running extremely ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/what-is-the-future-of-real-estate/507499/ The market was running extremely good prior to the housing crisis without the bond buying and rates were higher. Lenders have already begun to loosen the belt with less mortgage applications over the previous few weeks. This will remain a competitive market, standards will loosen even more as housing prices continue to appreciate. It ultimately depends on the uniqueness of the area and the supply and demand in the specific area, but as a whole we currently have more buyers than sellers. Many buyers were on the fence for so long waiting for a bottom it forced several builders out of business. The United States population continued to grow over the previous six year period, but building was not taking place. It will take some time for the building infrastructure and pace to catch up to the demand. We went through a long period of time without new construction. If you are looking at it from a local standpoint I would say the future of RE is very bright due to the number of jobs in the state of Maryland and the total # of builders that are building again. Overall, slow and steady wins the race. I believe we will see a 2-3% increase in value across the nation as interest rates rise.

Rita Mon, 19 Aug 2013 17:49:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/what-is-the-future-of-real-estate/507499/ 2013-08-19T17:49:00Z Like the song says, the future ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/what-is-the-future-of-real-estate/507499/ Like the song says, the future is so bright, I gotta wear shades! Seriously, we are seeing a lot of new RE agents, brokers, managers, and all the people who used to be in RE, pest people, fence people, construction coming back into the marketplace. It shall get stronger.

Liz Mon, 19 Aug 2013 02:58:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/what-is-the-future-of-real-estate/507499/ 2013-08-19T02:58:00Z Will start to steady as interests ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/what-is-the-future-of-real-estate/507499/ Will start to steady as interests rates are expected to go up. Wont; grow the 17% YOY like in California...sill start to normalize with steady growth rates like 3% YOY.
