This describe things that are 'wrong' with a property that would cost more to change than it would return in value. <br/>An example of this could be a 'bedroom' that you have to walk through as the only access too a kitchen.<br/>The rising flood insurance rates for waterfront properties is another example- a huge cost increase related to the house which adds to value to the property itself.<br/><br/>IMO no home is 'too old' unless it has too many aspects that are functionally obsolete. Provided it has the nice modern amenities like cable hookups, central air, and upgraded/newer electrical wiring.<br/><br/>Also make sure you get an inspection before you buy, especially for roofing, on any older home to check for structural damage.
