That commission goes to the office and then the office will pay her some amount, but she won't get all of it, so you are not paying her a dime. The seller pays, not you. But the contract is the contract and it is a legal document. It really does not matter when your agreement with her company expires since the contract to purchase is the one that controls the commission at this point. Others will weigh in but I would imagine that since you are under contract she is going to be entitled to her commission. I think really your only course of action is to voice your displeasure on her work at the closing. I am sure she will at least show up since there is a check to collect. Ultimately agents make their living on the word of mouth that their clients pass along. Someday she is either going to improve her skills or be forced out of the business. Look closely at your agency contracts you signed with this agent. Your representation agreement most likely states that their representation with you will be until "x" date OR CLOSING OF THE PROPERTY. So if your purchase agreement on this home is still good and an extension for closing has been made, then your agent will still be in contract with you. As always, any legal advice should be directed to an attorney :) Tue, 22 Oct 2013 16:08:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Realtor-contract-ends-before-we-close-are-due-to-close-can-we-not-renew/516242/ 2013-10-22T16:08:00Z
