Ideally, ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Do-Realtors-from-the-same-agency-compete-with-each-other/525494/ Yes, they compete. Ideally, it should be with the gloves on. The level of professional courtesy should be quite high within an office and there is often room for two agents to cooperate and share a client or a listing. Remember that our industry is one in which even fierce rivals from completing firms come together to cooperate on a particular transaction in the form of a co-broke. Seek out a real estate professional - attorney, real estate broker, appraiser
or knowledgeable / experienced party to represent your interests. Brokerage firms (companies
that employ real estate brokers), have "policies" that set forth "brokerage relationships" that they
condone or offer to the public; few offer "Seller Agency" most offer transaction Brokerage, Buyer's Brokerage or Dual relationships. Consider an "Agency Relationship" rather than a competitive $$
agreement. If you intend to be a "Seller". Listing Agreements typically state in the first few sentences
that the Listing Agreement is "Irrevocable" !! Meaning you are stuck with the choices you have made.
I've represented Buyers & Sellers for over three decades; hope this helps you make informed decisions

Bert Vine Thu, 23 Jan 2014 20:51:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Do-Realtors-from-the-same-agency-compete-with-each-other/525494/ 2014-01-23T20:51:00Z All good answers here. Trust ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Do-Realtors-from-the-same-agency-compete-with-each-other/525494/ All good answers here. Trust your instincts and go with the agent that you like and trust. I recommend interviewing, in person, 5 agents. Do not go with the one that tells you they can sell your home for a price higher than anyone else….they are trying to either "buy" your business or they don't know what they are doing. Thu, 23 Jan 2014 20:03:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Do-Realtors-from-the-same-agency-compete-with-each-other/525494/ 2014-01-23T20:03:00Z Hello Jilla! This is a very ... http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Do-Realtors-from-the-same-agency-compete-with-each-other/525494/ Hello Jilla! This is a very good question. You see, being a realtor is like having our own business even if we work at the same agency. Your experience is actually quite common and I suggest that you let them compete. Interview them in person and choose the one that you'd feel most comfortable with, someone that listens and that would keep your best interest at heart. Agents who work for the same company do compete against one another as we are all independent contractors. It is likely that they are unaware that other agents in their office are also contacting you.

The best advice I have is to look at what a company as a whole can offer you, as well as what the agent offers their seller clients. Not all agents are equal. Not all agents work as hard as others, some are part time, and some don't do as much additional marketing for their listings. It is also important that you trust your agent and you have good, open communication. I suggest interviewing at least 3 agents (they don't have to be from different offices though). You could also call the manager of a few local companies, tell them what you are looking for in an agent and they could make a recommendation to you.

Most important of all, trust your instincts! Good luck in the sale of your home. Thu, 23 Jan 2014 18:04:00 GMT http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Do-Realtors-from-the-same-agency-compete-with-each-other/525494/ 2014-01-23T18:04:00Z
