This is probably the most culturally diverse elementary school in Buncombe County and it is a beautiful thing to witness. As a PTO member and substitute teacher I have seen how much the teachers administration and guidance counselor care about the success of the students. I am impressed by how creative the teachers are and make learning the fundamental subjects fun. The school also offers music and art and has a great computer lab. There is a 3rd and 4th grade after school chorus that performs concerts around the county. My child's last four years at Johnston Elementary have been a wonderful experience.
