Although our son has only been attending since the holiday break we have seen such a difference in his attitude towards school! He has always been eager to learn and is very bright. Excellent in some areas rough in others. Our public school was not meeting his needs - he would tell us he was extremely bored not learning anything getting picked on every day and didn't want to go. Not only that but they were unwilling to work with us even though they have a 'gifted' program - nobody seems to want to be bothered with that! *We are not your typical private school folks just regular people with regular incomes that believe in a good educational foundation.* Since being here he has improved significantly in his math and reading as they believe more in the individual child than the standardized garbage of catching children up while others are learning nothing. They also incorporate environmental and community responsibility. There is a great student ratio and wonderful teachers that are committed and truly caring. They take field trips often which is a breath of fresh air. This school has an amazing environment - I would encourage you to visit and take a tour to see for yourself!

Both my daughters have gone to Kingfisher and it has been a wonderful environment for them. I especially like their new building as the yellow Victorian home has a lot of charm!

My child also attends Kingfisher Academy. It is a wonderful school! I have been very pleased with the school. I really love the small class sizes. I whole heartedly agree with the previous post and will continue to send my child to Kingfisher.

Kingfisher is amazing. The staff is dedicated to making a school experience that is welcoming and positive and fun for children. Each child is treated as an individual and learning programs can be tailored to each child's needs as the class sizes are small. My son is flourishing at Kingfisher after a very difficult experience at a Montessori school. He is advanced in some areas and lacking in others and the teachers at Kingfisher have been amazing about updating us about his progress and working with him and with us to ensure that he gets everything he needs both academically and emotionally. There are many amenities nearby that the children can and do take advantage of from the East Atlanta Library to numerous parks and greenspaces. The house is old but it's decorated nicely and is a very comfortable cozy school. My son is happy and excited about getting up in the morning to go to school and is allowed to be creative and share his enthusiasm for learning. We are completely happy with Kingfisher and will keep sending him there for as long as we can.

Our son attended Montessori before Kingfisher. I learned that any school that must adhere to one teaching methodology can never really "follow the child". Not all children learn in the same way. Kingfisher takes different approaches. Learning happens in groups projects or individually. Kingfisher does what works not what a methodology tells them to do. Kingfisher also helps children resolve conflicts and have compassion for one another. I remember a story of one field trip where the children discussed jobs that people do and how there is respect and dignity even in being a dishwasher. Kingfisher doesn t have a fancy web site and they don't rent the most pristine facilities. Instead they spend that tuition on the important stuff - teaching children. Kingfisher is an incredible school with great teachers creative and dedicated leadership and a curriculum that is not only innovative and rigorous but one that is truly affordable.

This small family-friendly school is perfect for my easily bored student. They do a bunch of environmental service projects too.
