High School Assessments (HSA)

In 2012-2013 Maryland used the Maryland High School Assessments (HSA) to test students in English 2, Algebra, and Biology upon completion of each course. The HSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Maryland. Beginning with the class of 2009, students are required to pass the tests in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to pass the tests.

This school is a complete mess. I try to call the staff they never answer you or call you back for things like my child's IEP. Like I would never send my child here again. I have made the big mistake ever in my life and my child's.

This school is not very organized and trying to contact a tecaher is nearly impossible. They have no website or emails to get in contact with teachers. The principal is a very understanding man.

Dunbar High School has always maintained a commitment to its students. As a graduate of Dunbar I have nothing but rave reviews about the quality of education and love I received. I'm trilled to mention that in SY07-08 my son will join the ranks of Dunbar and will be the 3rd generation of my family to attend this prestigious school.
