Our daughter is in Kindergarten at WSB. She is thriving. The teacher to student ration is 1 7. The teachers are deeply committed to an up-to-date interpretation of the principles set forth by Steiner. Our daughter's social emotional verbal and creative development has been dramatic. The school promotes age-appropriate methods which allow the children to authentically discover themselves their role in the social environment and their inherent competencies. The teachers are infinitely patient loving and interested in the children. Even though the tuition is a challenge for one children our baby daughter will also attend WSB.

We pulled our children from another private school in the country mid year due to a bullying problem. Waldorf is now busily repairing the psychological damage to my son and is teaching him to reach out to his peers to expect kindness from them and to be kind to them. I have never felt more confidence in a teacher in my life. The approach to social growth is kind supportive and makes the child an active participant. The approach to scholastic growth is exuberant and uses the whole body and mind to engage the students. Their education is accomplished without the hours of homework that other schools impose on young students knowing that the kids at Waldorf will make their own homework through eager exploration at home of what they studied that day.

The Waldorf School allows children to be children and nurtures their natural sense of curiousity. It encorporates music and art into the entire curriculum so that children can get a sense of the beauty of math and language from many angles. Children are treated in a developmentally appropriate way so that the children feel respected and safe and learn how to be respectful of others and how to be a good 'citizen' in their classrooms and the world. The school community is joyful and nurturing for the families of the children as well and there are amply opportunities to be involved in a meaningful way.
