I agree the bullying is ignored. Not suprisingly the link to the state bullying policy on the school website doesn't work. I transferred my chiild out after completing almost 11 years in the Barrington school system; she could no longer tolerate the bullying and was unable to thrive in class. The school was of NO help and had no methods of reducing bullying.

We have two children in the school system. Our eldest daughter is a student at the high school and so far we have been extremely happy with her experiences there. She works hard enjoys school has a great group of friends and she likes to participate in many of the after-school activities they offer. Barrington has many high-achieving students. As a result the learning environment can be a bit competitive and challenging . Ultimately however it benefits students because the standards are high. Overall we're very happy with the schools here.

My child was extremely unhappy with this school. The bullying is horrible and the teachers are no help.

As an alumni of Barrington High School I have many good things to say. The academics were superior. The teachers were clearly committed to the students and were always happy to go above and beyond. Given the small size of the school the extra attention was always available for studenst who needed help as well as those looking for an additional challenge. While all four years were engaging Barrington offers a wide variety of AP classes with teachers who clearly want each student to excel. While the curriculum is a focus of BHS the extra curriculars can't go unmentioned. There were many productions held each year (choral/instrumental/performance) and they were always well attended by students/parents/community. In addition the athletics programs are successful year after year and the majority of the student body participates.

This school is really good all around; the school is very well taken care of wonderful teachers who really care about students very few students who cause any trouble very high standards and exspectations. The only problem is that this quality does come at a price; the town has extroadinarily high taxes and people are often seen as snobby and preppy and rich. However the school system is exstreamly good.
