    Southwest is a wonderful school.

This is not a good school! Unless you are related to certain people in the community! They really need to get a handle on how to deal with certain outbreaks in the school! Never in our old school system did my children get sent home with that problem!

I believe that this middle school is encouraging parent participation. I have a 6th grade boy and when he has a problem the teachers let me know within a couple of days. I call the school adn visit on a regular basis. I really like the new principle Mr. Abramovitz Mr. A. to everyone there. True we had a few rough years with the principle before Mr. A. and I believe that it is fast coming on track again. I support my school with going to the board meetings PTO and the teacher conferances. If more parents were as pro-active with the school like this things would only get better. Why is it that when a kid is in trouble at school that is the only time the parents are there? Where are you when your kid is good? Getting good grades? Are you at the school then? I hope.

This is a terrible school. The principals and teachers have not shown any leadership or responsiblility to my kids this year. They have damaged my kids self-esteem by putting them down. The administration does not follows the rules that they mandate at the beginning of the school year. The school is academically a joke! My eighth grader doesn't know multiplication! My fifth grader is bored out of his mind because he has already learned all of this school's material therefore he ends up getting in trouble. The school does not encourage parent participation. I had to take my kids out and homeschool- just so they would learn something this year!
