Having raised two children who were in elementary school about 25 years ago I now am a Grandparent of a grandson in kindergarten who is currently at Nesbit Elementary School. I fell compelled to write a review because of how wonderful this school is. It all begins with the Principal who is like no other I have seen. She rallies the children on a daily basis with her dynamic personality passion and leadership skills. The teachers at least the kindergarten teacher I have had contact with are passionate intelligent and are a direct reflection of their Principal and the spirit she has. My daughter is a teacher in a high ranking private school. She believes this school to be as good as they come . I cannot imagine a better school for my grandchild to attend. I would rate this school a 10 in every facet of the elementary school spirit.

The school has made significant improvement in 2013. The API percentage is actually 8 out of 10 (not 7 out of 10). I expect to see even further improvement in the coming years! The campus has so beautiful after major projects early this year.

We are pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful school Nesbit is. The office staff Principal and teachers have all been very friendly and communicative to us as parents and treat my child with respect and encouragement. We like to diversity in the school and the strong parent involvement means that the students feel cherished.

The school like California has gone through a few transitions. However between the principal teachers and parents this school is a great one in all respects.

We've been at Nesbit for 3 years now and LOVE it! We've had amazing teachers and built amazing relationships with the parents and staff. The parents volunteer on a regular basis and they're are so many fun activities the PTA sponsors. We're very pleased with the education that our daughters ate receiving at Nesbit!

Nesbit is a great school. Full of diversity and extracurriculum activities. The principle and teachers are wonderful. My son is in Kindergarden and he comes home smiling and excited to share his day with me. He's inspired to learn and looks forward to another day a Nesbit Elementary School.

Our daughter is a kindergarten student at Nesbit and we couldn't be happier with this school. We were somewhat disappointed when we moved into our house two years ago and found out that our neighborhood school was so overcrowded that they were sending all the kindergarteners to Nesbit. Even though it is further away it is worth the extra driving. My daughter is happy inspired and eager to learn and she loves her school. All the Kindergarten teachers seem to be exceptional and the Principal is outstanding. While our daughter will be eligible to return back to the school closer to our home we plan to keep her at Nesbit for first grade.

As a parent of a first grader and being new to this school I cannot say enough about the teachers administration and support staff. They are all committed professionals that do all they can to provide quality eduation as well as promote a respectful welcoming and friendly atmosphere that is felt throughout the school. They have wonderful engaging assemblies that include exposure to animals from around the world as well as guest authors who engage students in writing workshops. Extracurricular activities include things such as Mad Science which provided a wonderful hands on opportunity for my child to learn about a variety of areas of science from animals to robots. One of the best things about this school is their program that teaches individual responsibilty and respect for all that includes a peer conflict resolution program. This school is anything but a warehouse for children.

This school is abysmal -- simply a place to warehouse children. The teacher provides little stimulation and the concept of hands on appears to have eluded this classroom entirely. We've been discussing these problems with the principal who has failed to follow through with her promises to correct them. Even the reading specialist failed to provide appropriate reading materials as promised. While there is certainly a lack of resources those that are available are squandered. The entire situation is inexcusable.

Our family is impressed with the dedicated and caring staff at Nesbit.

We love this school. The teachers and staff are great here. My daughter attended Kindergarten here and was excited about everyday. Her teacher was great also. A lot of parent involvement in her classroom which we loved. She will be attending the 1st grade there this year so she can't wait.

My girl loves this school even now she is in Ralston middle. She always visits Nesbit whenever she has time. She's been thinking about volunteering at Nesbit and shares what she knows with the Nesbit kids. She enjoyed her 5 years being there and missed her teachers a lot. Nesbit prepares her well. She is growing strong in Ralston and earning good grades. Nesbit's teacher quality is excellent. Principal Cherie Ho is a good leader and very approachable.

Cherie Ho returns to Nesbit now as principal after being principal at Sandpiper for several years. She is a strong principal who will increase parent involvement and improve the spirit of the school.

When we first moved to Belmont from Venice CA where my first 2 children were born we enrolled our 2 kids in my wife's old school IHM however after 3 years we tried out the 'school across the field' & were thrilled by the art music computer and parent teacher relationship. Mrs. Ho Mr. McGlurge and the dedicated faculty were a perfect match for our eager kids and as we had more we became more involved. Now after all 5 of ours have been through this great school Ray CoCo D.D. Tal & Zoe we feel that we have been blessed by the opportunity that this great school has afforded us. Celeste and I only have good things to say about this jewel of a school! Ray Robinson II

Nesbit is a wonderful school! People don't give Nesbit the credit that the school deserves. The teachers staff students and parents are what make the school a gem! Don't just look at test scores. There are many other factors that go into choosing a school for your child.
