We have three children at WSB and we are truly impressed with the quality of this education and the school. We are especially impressed with the middle school as none of the typical middle school issues are present (social media bullying peer pressure etc). Our children are in grades 2 4 & 6 and simply love going to school. We love WSB's experiential approach to education that is so incredibly rich integrating arts music and handwork into the academic curriculum. WSB teachers instill core values of respect reverence for nature and community service while inspiring a love of learning in the students. Because our children feel loved and protected by the faculty and staff at WSB they are incredibly engaged in the education and excited to go to school each day.

This is the third Waldorf school that our son has attended and our favorite. His teacher is the best. She has great communication with the parents on a weekly basis plans amazing field trips and cooks delicious and nutritious meals with them. Our son is enjoying all his lessons from letters math woodworking movement and handwork (to name a few). We are thrilled with his progress. On top of having a great teacher we also have such a beautiful and supportive school community that is now like family. We are so grateful to have found the right school for us.

We searched for an environment that placed less emphasis on testing and more on deep engaged learning that meets the child where they are. At Waldorf School of Bend our daughter feels safe loved inspired and nurtured by the tremendously dedicated faculty and staff. A snapshot of the rich weekly curriculum beginning in first grade math language arts Spanish German music cooking woodworking handwork art movement nature studies and lots of time outside -- and more. The field trips ensure that students explore beyond the school's walls (dogsledding farm visits and more). From hands-on science experiments to performing a Roman comedy students here get a truly well-rounded classical education -- that beautifully builds layer upon layer of knowledge and a passion for problem-solving exploration community involvement and life itself. It is a growing school with exciting plans for the future and a dedicated welcoming parent community. On a given day the cheerful happy halls are full of the smell of freshly baked bread the sound of piano and flute bright watercolors and happy curious faces.

Our boys love school!! That in itself is a great compliment. An amazing Waldorf curriculum is brought in such a way that the academic rigor in the forefront of all they do is not overshadowed by the fun of learning. There is a very strong sense of community which has been created by the parents the faculty and the administration. The old adage of " It takes a village to educate a child" is truly living at the Waldorf School of Bend.
