I love St. Mary's and so do my two children a first-grader and pre-schooler. The staff are all caring people who love educating children!

I pulled my kids out after 14+ years at the school. The change in administration was a detriment to the environment. You know it is time to go when the parent knows more than the principal. The teachers are wonderful but unfortunately are overshadowed by the errors of the principal and administration. Many teachers have left which is sad because they were the foundation of the school.
St. Mary's is a great school and our children re thriving there! The enthusiasm is contagious in this building. If you are looking for a school for your children you owe them a look at St. Mary's. I cannot say enough about the excellent teachers and the Christian values that are evident here. We are so happy with our decision to send our children to St. Mary's!
My son has been at St. Mary's in Kindergarten and I have had a wonderful experience. His Kindergarten teacher went the "EXTRA" mile with my son and now he is the BEST READER! The kids at St. Marys' are in involved in Stewardship and learn to give back to the community. As a mom this warms my heart and gives me great pleasure to know my son will experience this throughout his years at St. Marys'. Fr. John and Fr. Chris are involved with the kids on a daily basis!
We love St. Mary's! Our children are receiving a top rate education and are treated with respect. There is a feeling of family and we felt welcome the minute we walked in the building. The new Early Childhood wing is beautiful. We like the positive attitudes and Christ centered learning as well as the small class sizes.
Awesome school! We have 2 children at St. Mary's and can't say enough about the great education they are receiving and the christian values and morals they are learning. Several or our children have already graduated form St. Mary's and they have been very successful in high school because of the excellent education they received at St. Mary's. The administration and teachers are wonderful. If you are considering a school in this area you should visit St. Mary's!
I love St. Mary's! We live in a city with an excellent school district but I chose to transfer my kids to St. Mary's. I believe it is the best grade school in the area and provides the best education. Low student-teacher ratios and friendly energetic caring teachers and staff. Before and after school care is fun for kids and affordable. My kids love the computer lab and Spanish classes. It's amazing what my kids are learning they are well in advance of their public school peers well worth the tuition.
We have two children at St Mary's (1st and 4th grade) and we like it very much. This school offers A great atmosphere for learning and a good sports program.
It's all about the money at this school. Your student will get the help and attention if you have money no cash and no attention. The teachers in grades Pre-k though 2nd are great after that discipline is a real problem. There is one teacher in the Jr. High that even stirs up the boys. This teacher enjoys dishing on some of the students and then the students copy his behavior. The administration does nothing to discipline certain children because they come from money. This school is certainly a keep up with the Jones kind of place. Both of my children left after 7th grade we should have left sooner but the staff at St. Mary's cultivates a fear of the public schools. My children attended Ford Middle School and Midpark High School and have done very well (top 10) and are much happier there.
I will move my son out of this school at the end of this semester. I am very disappointed about the teachers in his class and the leadership of the principal.
My daughter has been at St. Mary's for two years and has truly benefited from all aspects of the school. I highly recommend it especially for students who have a high aptitude.
I took my tow youngest sons out of St. Mary's 2 years ago for a variety of reasons. They are both thiving in an excellent public school system. St. Mary's needs more services for children who learn differently and more accomodations in the regular education setting. They choose to put money into other things like Drama instead. Two of my children did wonderful there but if you're children need services- look elsewhere. They are not willing to go the extra mile for families who would go the extra mile for them.
I currently have two children attending St. Mary's and do not plan to continue their education there after this year. St. Mary's has an outstanding academic curriculum and has a lot to offer to the above average student. There is approximately 1-2 hours of homework each night and little to no help from the teachers. The principal does not return calls or help with any solutions to problems occurring. And they do not enforce a Christian atmosphere. There is a lot of 'keeping up with the Jones' '. The parents can be very clicky as well. I do NOT recommend this school.
I went to St. Mary's until I transfered to a public school system in which I am extremely happy with. St. Mary's was okay for me in the primary grades but I felt that once we got into multipication I struggled because of the new program.
Two of my children attended with two different outcomes. My daughter was a good student and thrived at St. Mary's. My son struggled academically and we fought with the teachers and administrators to get him the help he needed. We eventually withdrew him after 5th grade and sent him to the public school where he is now thriving with minimal additional tutoring. The math program had been weak but now seems on track with the adoption of the Saxon math program. The school has a great sports program starting 4th grade. Several students made it to the state finals for the 'Power of the Pen' writing program over the last two years. Summary If your child is average to above average this can be a great school. If you know or suspect your child may have learning issues you may want to consider schools with better resources.
As a parent of a 3rd grade child I am extremelly pleased with the level of quality teachers my son has had thus far. His standarazied test scores prove to us a strong academic foundation at St.Mary's. Extra programs provide opportunities for parent involvement. As a parent I appreciate the high standards both moral and academic that are expected at SMS. As a working parent the Before School and After School Extended Care Program provides my child with a safe environment and allows him supervised homework time with a certified teacher. The curriculum includes specials such as Spanish Computers & Music/Drama. Knowing my child looks forward to going to school every day certainly reaffirms my belief in Catholic education and that St. Mary's is a quality Catholic school.
My two children go to this school. Knowing that it is an acredited school makes a difference to me. The staff is absolutely wonderful. I am confident that my kids are getting a good education.
