This is a beautiful learning environment for kids to learn. The kids here are safe and have the latest technology to access for learning and inspiring social skills vocational skills critical thinking and most important academic skills. The Administrators are passionate about promoting positivity growth and decipline. The teachers are compassionate have high expectations of their students which promotes great results in the academics social and dicipline areas. The parent envolement is out of site. My first time visiting this school I learn that the hall monitors are parents who volunteer their time which is a great investment in our future. Huffman High School is a school where everyone is treated fairly. This is a school where if a student need help in academics or personal issues the staff from the lunchroom Janitors school nurses educators and administrator have one common goal and that is to make the kids daily experience at school to be a positive through every aspect to promote continueous growth personally and academicly.

i am currently going to this school as a sophmore and honestly i think this school is good. It's not great but it's good. It need a lot of repairs and improvement. They are not as organized as they should be and they are in disorder most of the time. But the school has good and well- trained teachers.

I currently attend Huffman High School I am a freshman. At first I was a lil crushed that I had to attend Huffman because I thought there would be messs and fights all the time ?? But my second week of school started to show a diffrent side of Huffman ! It realy is a great school not to many fights ? But the best thing for incoming freshmans is to stay focus because its a diffrent world and lots of independence you could get caught up in the wrong crowed bun I am glad to say I attend Huffman high school and wouldnt want to go any were else

I am a 2006 graduate of Huffman High School and I am very pleased to be able to say that because Huffman is a wonderful school. Although like every school it has some short-comings I wouldn't change where I received my education for anything in the world. Mr. Goldsmith was a great principal when I was there. He was always willing to listen relate and try to solve problems that his students had. The teachers are wonderful minus a minute few but that's everywhere you go. Mr. Whitehead Mr. Hill and Mr. KB are the best band and assistant band directors and they encourage and support the students as well. Huffman is a great school overall.

I am a student at Huffman and I love this school all my friends are here my favorite teachers and we have the greatest band of all time. But our bathrooms are disgusting and the gym is so so hot an we only have two fans to cool the whole gym down For homecoming we had alot of things planned for us then they canceled it all without telling us why now the seniors will have no good memories of their last high school homecoming. We really need money we don't have it so there has to be some other way to improve Huffman we have to make a change if we want to keep Huffman strong.

I am a current student at Huffamn High School and the only real thing wrong is our funding!!!! We have moldy books and not enough for eneryone to get one!!!! Huffman is not a bad school education wise and its not their fault what the students do on their own time but our fundings need to get better and our classes need to be better suited for the quantity of students here at Huffman!!! But other then that Huffman is a great school

I was reluctant to put my child in Huffman H.S. due to all the bad reports floating around out there which are all unfounded. I am pleased with the discipline teaching staff and my childs positive attitude since starting at Huffman H.S. I am only upset as a tax payer that the City of Birmingham will not give our children and teachers what they deserve moral and financial support for the most important job there is teaching our children. There are good and bad children in every school unfortunately only 'CERTAIN' schools make the news. Thankyou Huffman H.S.

I am thankful for Huffma High. Its is a school that most people think is so outragous but its really not.The teachers and the students have much to say about the behavior of the school.I have a son that goes to Huffman. My oldest child is eight-teen now and he went there. I also have plenty of children that love me that goes there and tells me what goes on there. Some people say that its a bad school but its not.Now I know that I've said it already in this letter but it really is not. It all depends on how the children act.But this year has been the best in over five years to me.Now the sports are very important to the kids and most of them look at it as somthing to do after school to stay out of jail. And to me there doing a good job of it.

I would like to give thanks to the many wonderful teachers at HHS. Too often we look for the bad and never give recognition to the good. I would like to personally thank any teacher or staff who work at HHS or any school. I've chaperon different events and have been involved around the kids at different activities and I tell you it take a special person to deal with other people's kid's attitudes and personalities. These kids are not the kids we (sometimes) see at home. They sometimes become different people despite home training or lack of home training. Thanks for caring and keep up the good work. You all are special and there's not enough we could pay you. May God bless you all and special thanks for Ms. Sims you are dear to my heart because I know you are sincere.

' I am a present student at HHS. I have to admit that this year has to be one of the best years thus far. Some people blame the teachers for mistakes as if their child is not learning but most of the time it may just be the child. I know my grades are fair at HHS but I also know that my grades can be a whole lot better. If your child's grades does not meet your household standards blame your child because HHS provides tutoring before and after school. HHS is taking dramatic steps to help us students in a positive way. But I have to admit Pre-Calculus may call for a little outside of school help. So parents and other school administrators watch out because HHS is on the move.

As a graduate of the class of 2001 I am greatful to had attended Huffman. I'm very glad to say that my teachers actually did care if I went to college or not. Everyone knows that Birmingham City System is not at the point where it needs to be but also education starts at the home. I'm very glad to say that I graduated with honors from HHS and now attending a private university where I'm involve alot of school events. Thanks to my family and those teachers at Huffman that pushed me to the point that 'that will do' is not acceptable!

As a 2003 graduate of Huffman High I was proud to be a part of such a fine learning environment. The teachers were awesome and they have set me up on the road to success that I'm on right now.

I have recently paid a visit to Huffman High School and was very pleased with the school's culture. There was a sense of pride respect and an extreme hunger for the pursuit of excellence among both teachers an students. 'Great Things Ahead' for Huffman!

I am very frustrated with our school system here.I feel like my kids are not learning all that they can our system actually take up the kids books for weeks so that they can study for the SAT tes. This interupts the learning process this is also going on with the Elementary Schools as well. As a taxpayer in the city of Birmingham I am having to look for schools outside of my district to send my kids to not to mention I am paying for this. The Birmingham City Schools that are advanced your kids must have high SAT scores to get in. That is ok but.. it is not ok if there are kids getting in on who they know or if the kids are LD (learning disorders) students.I feel that the kids that are really qualified should be getting in for the last 7 years I have gotten comments about the unfairness of the school system here.I have a child entering High School this year and it is a task to have to look outside of my system for a school. The politicians here need to focus more on education than filling there pockets.
