I am sure there are bullys at most schools. At Blanchard the bullying is out of control! I have seen it happen with my own eyes. It makes one wonder what is happening when an adult is not watching. The teachers appear good. As always sports and athletes override all else.

I"ve been going to blanchard public schools for 4 years now. The intermediat was great teachers were top notch. The middle school on the other hand is a waste i think. 1) The teachers are not a the ball game i can"t count on hand how many pratically ignore the acadimic requirements! 2) the priciple is only focused on the teachers and the extremly bad kids. Also the swats our school still allows are a little over used and I haven't even had one!!!! 3) They can't get good sports coaches to keep around.

The new principal Mr. McVey runs a very 'tight ship'. He does not tolerate any bullying name-calling or other misconduct (much less violence). The school is much better than in past years because of his leadership. He listens to parents' and students' concerns and takes action accordingly. The teachers are the same as previous years for the most part.

I feel that there needs to be a better Anti-Bullying Policy that will actually be enforced. The Principal could be doing more to make our children feel safe at school.

This principal is not very good because he is too focused on discpline for students who get into trouble. Some dicipline is O.K. but this has gone over the top.The teachers are good and the bands are best and the library is top-rate. But overall the school is not that good.

I've been going to Blanchard Public Schools since I started elementary school. I am in High School now and am much more pleased with the schools performance than I was in Middle School. During my years there I found it very hard to keep my grades in line. I have straight A's now but in Middle School I was barely making C's. Yes the teachers give progress reports but that's about all you would get when it came to your grade. If you wanted to change it you were on your own. Blanchard Schools only offer the basic extra-curricular activities. They don't offer drama or many other activities other than sports. I never found a sense of pride in our school either. If you ask me there wasn't much to have pride in. We've gotten a new Superintendent here and maybe some things have changed. One can only hope.

I have been very pleased with Blanchard Schools as a whole. They offer many programs to appeal to the different interests of the children. Although my child has been involved in extra-curriculars in the past I felt it was more important for her to focus on education this year and her grades have greatly improved. This is a responsibility as a parent to oversee when their child may be overburdened and unable to concentrate on learning. When my daughter did not bring home her progress reports I called the school to get her grades over the phone. The school has always been very helpful in such situations. Blanchard is a relatively small school and my daughter has enjoyed getting to know her teachers and not merely just being a number. These teachers have done a wonderful job of filling in the holes due to cutbacks and some even drive bus routes to help.

Blanchard Middle School focuses too much on extra curricular activities and not much on academics. I've get absolutely no help from my son's teachers when I ask for direction to help in his learning. The teachers now have to send home progress reports every three weeks but do not follow up with the parents of students who don't return them. They have a new principal for the 2004-2005 school year so maybe some changes for the better will happen. All in all I'm not pleased with the middle school.
