Naked Listing
With the rise of the internet buyer, blogs are becoming an effective tool for sellers and their agents to promote their listings. So, when Robert and Maryam Scoble listed their Bothell home (screenshot) for sale yesterday, they blogged about it (here and here).
Blogging comes naturally to the Scobles; Robert’s blog, Scobleizer, has more than 3,5 Million readers and has lent a human voice to his erstwhile employer. Scoble recently resigned from Microsoft to join Podtech, a Podcasting startup — hence their move to California. The Scobles have bought a new place in Half Moon Bay; which looks like a slice of paradise when viewed from our aerial images.
Stan Mackey is the Scobles’ listing agent. He started blogging in May and already, a full 65% of the buyers who view Stan’s MLS listings online, come from his blog. With results that good, Mackey may have read Scoble’s book, Naked Conversations, which is a veritable textbook about blogging.
We wish the Scobles the best of luck with their sale, and their move. If you’re in the market for a home in Seattle / Bellevue, check out their listing and if it fits your requirements, contact Stan. Are you blogging about your house or your listings? If so, how has it worked out for you?
Hat-tip to g-WH!Z for breaking this news.
Update – 6/28: Robert Scoble dropped by and cofirmed that Stan Mackey has read his book — I hope that the other agents here are taking note and adding a blog to your business plan.
