April Fools! This Guitar is a Home
April Fools has always been a fun holiday for me, as I am a prankster at heart. Last year, those of us on the Zillow Pranks sub-committee (yes there is one) had wanted to replace the Zillow.com website with something to make our users think twice. Unfortunately, after being live for only 2 months at that point there were a few other priorities to focus on. Other tactics from the Zillow Pranks subcommittee haven’t really gotten off the ground yet either, but I just love thinking about the possibilities.
So, in appealing to my inner prankster, I am proud to unveil Famous Unique Homes, which is the latest addition to the Famous Homes lineup and carries somewhat of an April Fools’ Day theme. Many of these homes share the same qualities of a really good prank — they’re fun, exciting, unique and they all have their own distinct character. Some homes, like the Spite House and Skinny House, have stories that sound a little like a prank gone too far. Others, like the rotating home, are so fascinating that we need to know more.
One thing that can be said for sure is that each and every home has a story. For some homes, the story might be as rich as the Iranian-born home builder from Atlanta, who after becoming a proud naturalized U.S. citizen, created his home as a scaled down model of the White House. Others are as simple as building your house in the shape of a guitar because you really like country music. Let us know if you know some unique homes, too, and we’ll add them to a future list.
