Top viewed for sale postings on Zillow

Overnight, we crossed another magic number threshold as the number of homes for sale on Zillow clicked past the 100,000 mark. We launched the ability to post homes for sale back in December and have watched this number slowly increase over time.

We thought with this milestone, it would be a fun exercise to pull the number of page views for homes the week prior to posting on Zillow and then pull the number of page views for the week after posting on Zillow.  I have to say I was shocked at the results.

Our top two homes both had over 400 views in the week after posting on Zillow.  Even the home that came in at #10 on the list in Grapevine, TX generated 141 views.   Check out the Home Q&A on the home in Issaquah, WA.   In this case the owner was able to answer community-generated questions as though someone was walking through an open house.

By spending five minutes to post your home for sale on Zillow you are able to get your property, photos and voice in front of thousands of potential buyers and sellers — all for free. The above chart tells the story that if you post a home for sale, lots of people will click on it. To borrow a line from Field of Dreams, if you post it, people will come.
