Former Red Sox Pitcher Schilling Shaves Price to $5 Million

Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling is feeling the effects of a slow real estate market and has shaved $3 million off the original asking price of $8 million for his “Woodridge Estate” located at 7 Woodridge Rd, Medfield, MA 02052, which is about a 45-minute drive to Fenway Park.

According to the Boston Herald,

The Schillings bought the house in 2004 from former New England Patriots QB  Drew Bledsoe  for $4.5 million. Bledsoe had originally put the house on the market for $9 million back in 2002 when QB/QT  Tom Brady took his job and Drew shuffled off to Buffalo. It took Drew two years and a 50 percent price reduction to sell it.

Could another Boston pro athlete come along to bid on the Bledsoe-Schilling hand-me-down? It comes complete with all the necessary toys of a pro: 25+ acres, home theater, heated swimming pool, all-sports court (tennis, basketball, ice skating rink/seasonal) and a professional batting cage. (Check out photos of Schilling’s home. There’s even a World Series Express kids’ bed.)

Earlier this week, Mariners’ star Ichiro Suzuki listed his Seattle-area home for $1.7 million.
