Jon and Kate Plus Eight’s Real Estate Stress
As if Jon and Kate Gosselin didn’t have enough to worry about already (rumors of marital infidelity, aggressive paparazzi, national media scrutiny, and, oh, eight kids) they can now tack on an extra stressor: the sluggish real estate market. The family of eight has yet to sell their famous Cape Cod-style starter home (site of the first four seasons of Jon and Kate Plus Eight) located at 2190 Andrew Avenue, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. The home has been listed for sale on Zillow for 98 days.
Last Fall, fresh with cash from book deals and contract renewals, the Gosselin gang upgraded into a $1.1 million home that sits on 26 acres in Wernersville, PA. The couple is reportedly rakin’ in $47,000 per episode paychecks and enjoying perks such as all-expenses paid vacations and tummy tucks for Kate.
Sadly, all the fame and fortune has come at a price. The couples’ marriage has been under the media microscope after rumors of infidelity made headlines in recent months. The jury’s still out on the future of the marriage, but the June 8 issue of InTouch reported that producers have begun shopping for apartments that are camera-crew ready “so that Jon can move out (whether he wants to or not).”
