Foreclosure Flirts With Two ‘Real Housewives’

In a strange coincidence, two separate “Real Housewives” from the Bravo reality TV series have either lost their home to foreclosure or are at risk of doing so.

First up is Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Sheree Whitfield. Technically, Whitfield lost her home to her husband via nasty divorce and then he let it slip into foreclosure, according to Real Estalker.

The list price started at $2,850,000, then went down to $2,400,000, then the bank took over and it appears to be listed for $959,000. The home is located at 5525 Long Island Dr NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30327 (photo above). BTW, Sheree’s ex-husband is ex-NFLer Bob Whitfield.

Next up is Jeana Keough of Real Housewives of Orange County. According to the Orange County Register, Keough owns four homes (three are rental properties) and is trying to do a loan modification on them. She admits that there is a notice of default on her Coto de Caza home.

“I think all four of my houses have notices of defaults on them, as I’m trying to get loan modifications on them. To get a loan modification you have to stop making payments to qualify. I have renters in the other three now. I don’t know if I’m going to sell it, or what I’m going to do.”

Bravo airs four different “housewives” series’ – Orange County, New York City, Atlanta, and New Jersey — and coming up — Washington, D.C.!

depending on the lender you typically do not have to be late on your mortgage to qualify for a loan modification…I have had success with modifying clients that were current on their mortgage at our agency.

There where many reasons why sub-prime became the problem it is, starting with our government and going all the way down to home speculators using homes as the ‘new stock market’ if you will. The Great American Dream (see blog at mddesignhomes.com on the American dream) of home ownership was not to over price homes so bad that it squeezed any hopes the average John & Jane Doe ever having a chance of owning a home of their own. Is it really possible for the above speculator’s to have found a way around their losses by quit possibly using the loan modification to manipulate the position they played into it in the first place, by ‘not making their payments’ to qualify? Just when I thought some regulations were going to control this mess, I read an article about a lady having four houses not making payments on so she can get her loans modified, I’m sorry but that confounds me.

This has to be because of the financial crises, and this is something that is effecting a lot of people all around the world, one has to try and make payments as to not loose their homes and keep their heads above water just until we can get through this

Didn’t the housewives say that the economic crisis doesn’t apply to them?
That no matter what, they can waste and spend as much money without worrying about losing anything?
Well guess what ladies, if you are not earning more than what you are spending then common sense suggest that you’re heading down the wrong path, but if you can find another athlete to divorce sheree go for it, as for you jeana, trust me, i have not seen a 70 year old real estate agent showing houses, so invest in other things instead of giving you’re sons houses for free.

The reality is that the economic crisis has impacted all social economic classes. The notion that an Real Estate agent has acted irresponsibly and obtained financing that she did not qualify for is incorrect in fact most individuals who qualified for mortgages now in default qualified using full documentation programs and verified assets. When your ability to earn decreases as MANY has wealthy or not you are forced to make hard decisions like feed your children and hope that by missing a house payment you can make it up next month.

I am sorry to hear about all of the Housewives struggles, they have had to make some hard decisions and in the public eye no less.

Notices of defaults on four homes and I am pretty sure from my experience that a high percentage of loan modifications don’t go through. I hope she figures out a way to make it work.

The Real Orange County, a bunch of fake people buying homes they can’t afford. Showing off for each other with cars, boats, vacations and jewelry that they really can’t afford it’s sickening. The superficial nature of the OC is ridiculous and I do not feel bad for these people at all. The best real estate market in the US is the Dallas area. Dallas real estate lots have become more valuable while the rest of the US has seen drops in market prices across the board.
