Zillow’s Killer 2009

Today we announced some significant milestones for Zillow.com, Zillow Mortgage Marketplace, and the Zillow iPhone App in 2009. A few highlights from today’s press release:

An average of 8.2 million people (unique visitors) came to Zillow each month in 2009, which is a 57 percent year-over-year increase.
3.9 million homes are now posted for sale, for rent or Make Me Move on Zillow — up 43 percent over 2008.
The Zillow iPhone App has been downloaded more than 870,000 times since its launch just eight months ago, making it the #1 real estate app on the iPhone. More than 2 million homes are viewed on the Zillow iPhone App each month.
Consumers submitted over half a million loan requests on Zillow Mortgage Marketplace in 2009, and lenders responded with more than 10 million custom loan quotes.
171 U.S. newspapers began using Zillow’s search and listings technology to power their real estate Web sites in 2009 — check out a few including The Tampa Tribune and Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Meanwhile, here’s a breakout of our most-visited metropolitan areas in 2009.

You have continued to advertise erroneous information for homes in our area, even after I have contacted you to correct. Your company boasts of the number of people who come to your site in search of reliable information. Yet, you don’t do your due dilegence to follow up. It is very apparent that your company is more pre-occupied with getting the word out to come to your site, than to provide accurate information. This now serves as the sixth time I have contacted your company. What gives?

Zillow needs to respond to flags. I have sent several that have been ignored. I “claimed” my home as owner, but it does not protect me from having my data overwritten by an erroneous MLS sweep. Zillow seems to apply MLS listings to the “best match” address, which is not always correct. For example, MLS listing is on 24th Ave. My house is on 24th Ave East, a completely different address & zipcode. If the address & zipcode don’t match, Zillow should exclude it. And, Zillow should allow the owner with the “claim” to change erroneous entries and pictures. Help!

I think it’s the fact that its a silk scarf for £ 50, which is aimed at cyclists who in my opinion, probably do not need a silk handkerchief .. i do not mind paying prices Rapha (when I can) for well-made shirts / bibshorts et al .

Zillow has listed our home on their website with the wrong city and zip code. We’ve been on zillow many years and the listed was fine in the beginning. I don’t understand what changed it. I can’t find anyway to contact zillow to find out how it can be fixed or why it was changed!!!!
