House Used in ‘Something’s Gotta Give’

This home, by far, is one of my favorites ever shown in a movie or in general. It’s in one of the most beautiful areas out East, which of course is The Hamptons. This is a house I can see myself living in. I love everything from the kitchen, the living room decor and the great paintings. In this you can see she puts a great deal of thought in her decor as the character she portrays, award winning playwrite Erica Barry. She’s at a time in her life where she has many accomplishments and she’s very comfortable with who she is. This shows in her decor. In the movie, the house itself is one of the main characters. It makes you feel happy when you see it. Here she is writing another hit play, using her laptop and she has converted her bedroom and office space in one huge room. All is mostly done in white. The appliances, such as the refigerator are all modern and at the same time have that kind of not too precious, shabby chic look. A home you can entertain in and feel at home in without the uncomfortable feeling that if you touch something, you may have the awful chance of breaking something of value. Noone wants to live in a home that looks and feels like a museum. We can save that for The Museum of Modern Art. This is a home where once you go down that gorgeous staircase outside in the back, you are in bliss able to see nothing but gorgeous beach for miles ahead. Imagine the sunsets you can observe there. That’s what I call happiness and living. Nancy Meyer’s always has a way with making homes characters in movies and they play such a vital role. I love her movies for this alone. Plus they’re always fantastic!

The house that is linked to “it’s for sale” at the end is very similar but NOT the same house pictured above; it has a different address from the one listed for the film house, and listed at nearly half the price!

Coould someone please…..help me. I have been searching for a year for the painting of the back of a lady sitting near water in a one piece black bathing suit. I think this painting was in Erica’s bedroom.

The large wooden bowls in the kitchen (placed on the center island) I think there walnut, where can I purchase them?

@Faith, I believe the one you’re looking for is called “Swim Party 2″. Kenton did three Swim Party paintings but, only one copy (by another artist, probably a Chinese artist as most are done there).

Here’s Kenton’s site along with the three Swim Party paintings. I’m going to keep checking back here because I’m doing a lot of research on his paintings right now and trying to find affordable options to at least get a print. Do you have an amount you’re looking to spend?
