House Used in ‘Something’s Gotta Give’

As summer approaches, and after all these years, we can’t stop lusting over Erica Barry’s house (Diane Keaton’s role) in the 2003 movie “Something’s Gotta Give.” The Hamptons home nearly stole the show from Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson and remains the object of deep affection and house desire on websites and blogs for its interior design and downright beauty.

So, where is that house? According to Silver Screen Surroundings, the Something’s Gotta Give house is located at 576 Meadow Ln, Southampton, NY 11968. There it is, above. (See photo of Keaton standing in entry below).

While the Southampton home was used for exterior shots

… the entire interior and backyard were built on a Hollywood soundstage, and set designers created much of the furniture. The islands were built on casters so they could be wheeled out of the way as needed. The countertops were plywood painted to look like soapstone. And when the filming wrapped, the entire set was dismantled. Props were auctioned on eBay for charity.

Wah. Hollywood always spoils everything. But, if you’re looking for that special Hamptons property that has a striking resemblance to the Something’s Gotta Give house, we found it — and, it’s for sale!
