Report: $72M Listing ‘Le Belvedere’ Under Contract
Is it true? Is the humongous “Le Belvedere” on 630 Nimes Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90077 that has been listed for sale for $72 million under contract? Real Estalker reports this “Bel Air Beast is in contract,” and Redfin shows it is, too. And now, the Wall Street Journal reports that an Indonesian businessman is the buyer and is set to pay around $50 million.
If the sale goes through and it sells close to the asking price, it will become the most-expensive residential home sold in the U.S. in 2010 — more than last week’s news of Bootjack Ranch selling for $46.5 million.
Le Belvedere and Bootjack Ranch were both on Zillow’s 10 Most Expensive Homes for Sale list last December. Here’s a status report from that list:
#1 “Tranquility” is still listed for $100 million
#2 “Albemarle House” is listed for $48 million (it was $100 million)
#3 “Hummingbird Nest Ranch” is still listed for $75 million
#4 “Julius Forstmann house” is still listed for $75 million
#5 “Le Belvedere” is under contract
#6 “Little Jennie Ranch” is off the market; it was listed for $69.5 million
#7 “Three Ponds” is still listed for $68 million
#8 “Bootjack Ranch” sold for $46.5 million
#9 “Greg Norman’s Tranquility” is still listed for $65 million
#10 “Pacific Heights Neoclassical Villa” is off the market; it was listed for $65 million
Le Belvedere is owned by real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and features a 1,000-feet long, 36-foot high hand-chiseled stone wall imported from Jerusalem. Here are some more photos of Le Belvedere:
