30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rate Rises Slightly for First Time in Five Weeks; Current 30-Year Fixed Rate is 4.5%

Mortgage rates for 30-year fixed mortgages rose slightly this week, with the current rate borrowers were quoted on Zillow Mortgage Marketplace at 4.5 percent, up from 4.49 percent at this same time last week.

The 30-year fixed mortgage rate rose last Thursday from 4.45 percent to 4.52 percent then stabilized near 4.5 percent for the remainder of the week.

This morning, the 15-year fixed mortgage rate was 3.99 percent and for 5/1 ARMs, the rate was 3.42 percent.
