Bill and Hillary Clinton Close to Buying Bedford Hills, NY Home

Goodbye Chappaqua, hello Bedford Hills. If you’re keeping tabs on homes of U.S. Presidents, it looks like an update is coming our way. Former president Bill Clinton and his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are close to buying this Bedford Hills, NY home, according to the NY Post. It is listed for sale for $10.9 million.

Bedford Hills, NY is just a mere eight miles north of Chappaqua, NY, but this home offers the kind of privacy and security the Clinton’s have missed in their Chappaqua home, which was “only” one acre. Called “Clover Hill,” the possible new Clinton estate has 20 acres, 7,000 sq ft of living space and is in the heart of horse country with access to the Bedford Riding Lanes Association.

The Clintons are reportedly so keen on the house that they are pushing for a closing date that could come on the heels of their daughter Chelsea’s July 31 wedding to investment banker Marc Mezvinksy.

Clover Hill was built in 2000 and evokes an English country cottage style with lots of fireplaces (I count four in the photos below), wood-beamed ceilings, a horse stable and dressage ring, heated in-ground pool, koi pond, and elaborate gardens. Plus, there are two guest houses. Sounds like a great place for the Secret Service to keep an eye on Eagle, and Evergreen. Energy, however, will soon be flying the coop.

Not everyone is happy with the potential move. This Daily Beast writer equates Chappaqua to being “…LeBron James’d by Bill and Hillary Clinton” and he also adds the Clintons will be “…11 mailboxes away from both the Taconic and Bedford Hills Correctional Facilities.” That’s OK. Other Bedford Hills neighbors include Richard Gere, Martha Stewart and Glenn Close, and they’re all still healthy and alive, so the proximity to the inmates can’t be all that bad.
