Nina Garcia Lists New York Apartment for $8.5 Million

If you’re looking to tap into your inner six-digit spending fashionista self, what better way to start than by forking over a few million for a sprawling apartment on the corner of New York’s hottest designer shopping street? Located but a few Manolo Blahnik steps from the retail haven of Madison Avenue, Project Runway judge, bestselling author and Marie Claire Fashion Director, Nina Garcia, has decided to list her Upper East Side pad for $8.5 million.

Garcia and hubby, David Conrod,  have called the two unit co-op “home” since they purchased the larger of the two units in November 2005. According to Real Estalker, the couple purchased the adjacent unit a few months later bringing their final purchase price to $4,921,900. That, of course, excludes the price tag behind the top-of-the-line renovation that turned the neighboring units into an 8-room, 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom masterpiece.

As one would expect from a Fashion Director, the home is elegantly, stylishly and dramatically designed with 11.5-ft ceilings, five South-facing picture windows, a master suite with two humongous dressing rooms, library, staff room and adjoining dining and living rooms that are separated by double pocket doors. While the reason behind listing the impressive pied-a-terre is unknown, it is safe to speculate Conrad and a pregnant Garcia are looking for a more family friendly abode before son #2 comes into the picture.
