Julia Roberts Buys Her Second Manhattan Apartment for $3.895 Million

After last week’s news that the Golden Globe and Oscar-winning actress, Julia Roberts, received $1.5 million to stand and smile in an Italian coffee commercial, it came as little surprise to learn that the Eat, Pray, Love star recently dropped $3.895 million for a second Manhattan home.

Just 10 blocks away from her Gramercy Park apartment, Roberts’ newest addition to her real estate portfolio is a penthouse co-op at 45 W 10th St in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, NY. The building was constructed in 1958 and stands as the only co-op on the coveted, tree-lined street. Swooping up Big Apple properties, however, isn’t out of character for the world famous (and perhaps most bankable) actress. The NY Observer reports that Roberts has been collecting city property for over a decade buying multiple units in her Gramercy Park building since her first $2.15 million purchase in 1993, along with a $2.95 million, 9-room co-op on Fifth Avenue near Washington Square Park. She also owns properties in Venice and Malibu, CA, and a ranch in Taos, NM. Roberts spends most of her non-filming time on the West Coast with husband, Daniel Moder, and three kids, Hazel, Finn and Henry. Maybe this purchase is a hint that the Moder-Roberts clan is heading East – we’ll have to wait and see.
