30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rate at Six-Month Low
Mortgage rates for 30-year fixed mortgages fell this week, with the current rate borrowers were quoted on Zillow Mortgage Marketplace at 4.33 percent, down from 4.45 percent at this same time last week. This is the lowest average rate reported on Zillow Mortgage Marketplace in 25 weeks. In November 2010, the average rate was 4.3 percent.
The 30-year fixed mortgage rate fluctuated between 4.45 percent and 4.35 percent for the majority of the week until it peaked at 4.46 percent this past Sunday, before falling to the current rate.
Additionally, the 15-year fixed mortgage rate this morning was 3.59 percent and for 5/1 ARMs, the rate was 2.84 percent.
