Celeb Tidbit: Jason Statham Buys Ben Stiller’s Home

After Jason Statham’s former home in Hollywood Hills sold within a week for $2.7 million, the tough-guy actor moved on to bigger and better things, notably Ben Stiller’s compound in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Stiller’s home was offered at $11.5 million.

Statham, best known for his roles in “The Italian Job” and “The Transporter” and “The Expendables” has had quite a few roles this year, starring in “The Blitz,” “The Mechanic” and “Killer Elite,” due out next month.

While Statham’s former pad was nothing to sniff at — a post-and-beam contemporary home with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that opened to a pool area— his new Hollywood Hills place, once home to funnyman Stiller and his wife Christine Taylor, is a considerable step up. Stiller and Taylor first put the home on the market in fall 2009 for $12.5 million, and reportedly moved to New York City. Median Hollywood Hills home values currently hit at $971,200.

Stiller purchased the home in 1999 and combined three properties to create the Spanish-style compound with a total of 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. The first home has 5,334 square feet of living space, followed by a second house with 4,062 square feet and a third, detached 1,161-square-foot guest house built in 2001.
