Matthew Perry Lists Modern Malibu Home
Matthew Perry has been a real friend of the L.A. housing scene these days, starring a lot in celebrity real estate news.
Perry — better known as Chandler Bing in the dearly departed hit show “Friends” — recently purchased a home in Sunset Strip for $8.65 million. The prime piece of Los Angeles real estate comes with sweeping views of Tinseltown, spanning downtown L.A. to the Pacific Ocean.
With a sweet spot like that, Perry decided to dump his West Hollywood condo, which also boasted expansive views of L.A. and the ocean. The corner unit in the Sierra Towers is currently listed for $2.995 million. Perry purchased the apartment in 2005 from Elton John for $3.2 million.
Perhaps to avoid a hefty mortgage payment on his new Sunset Strip pad, Perry is now also looking to unload another one of his properties: A beachfront slice of Malibu real estate just a short hop from Pacific Coast highway.
Perry’s Malibu home, listed for $13.5 million, has 4 bedrooms, 5.5 baths in 5,500 square feet of living space. Located in the celebrity-friendly enclave of Serra Retreat, the home is described as a modern architectural statement with sleek lines and contemporary amenities.
According to the property history, Perry picked up the Malibu home in 2005 for $6,550,060. Confident in Malibu home values, he’s listed the property for about twice as much.
In addition to an infinity pool and several patio spaces, Perry’s home features indoor and outdoor sound systems, an enormous master suite with sitting area, a movie theater and additional media room — perfect for screening all 10 seasons of “Friends.”
The listing is held by agent Greg Holcomb of Sotheby’s International Realty.
