Donald Trump’s CA Estate Sells for $7.15M
After nearly a year on the real estate market, Donald Trump’s home in Rancho Palos Verdes has sold for a significant price cut, according to the L.A. Times. His 11,000-square-foot estate was first listed for $12 million, and the Times reports the house sold at $7.15 million.
Trump was initially welcomed into the tiny community. He purchased 300 acres of Ranchos Palos Verdes real estate back in the late 1990s for $27 million and the site was developed to include his 5-bedroom, 9-bathroom mansion, plus a luxury 18-hole golf course and clubhouse.
Things didn’t stay hunky-dory for long. Trump’s style was a bit aggressive for the exclusive community. Although they welcomed the golf course he built, they fought him over the Trump-named street, 12-foot-high ficus trees and other issues, reports Housing Watch. Trump eventually sued the city for $100 million, complaining to the L.A. Times that they tried “to stymie everything I do.”
With no love lost between The Donald and Ranchos Palos Verdes, the business mogul listed his home in 2010.
The estate was Trump’s residence when he stayed in L.A. Designed specifically for him, the property sits at the 18-hole Trump National Golf Course, which he built, owns and maintains. The enormous 5-bedroom, 9-bath home is perched on a bluff on almost a quarter of an acre.
The home’s great room and foyer have marble floors and retractable wall-to-ceiling glass doors that offer prime views of the Pacific Ocean. A custom kitchen includes high-end appliances and copper-hooded range stove. The master suite includes a double shower, walk-in closet and private patio. Other Trump-worthy amenities include a game room, glass-enclosed wine room, library and multiple fireplaces.
Median Rancho Palos Verdes home values are currently $875,800.
