Simon Helberg Lists Home for Less ‘Bang’ Than He Paid
Following the footsteps of his fellow “The Big Bang Theory” castmates, actor Simon Helberg has listed his home on the Los Angeles real estate market for less than what he paid in 2008.
Call it an unfortunate trend.
Fellow “The Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco recently sold her house for less — the actress purchased her home for $1,355,000 in 2005 and, three price cuts later, sold it for $822,500 in August 2011.
Helberg purchased his home in May 2008 for $950,000 and currently has it listed for $849,000.
Helberg plays Howard Wolowitz on the Emmy-nominated comedy. In its fifth season, the show focuses on the relationship between brilliant, but awkward physicists and the waitress who lives across the apartment building hall.
Helberg’s home is a traditional Craftsman. Built in 1910, the 2,569-square-foot home still has the original leaded-glass windows, peaked roof, hardwood floors, built-ins and designer light fixtures.
The 5-bedroom, 4-bath home features an updated kitchen with high-end stainless steel appliances and granite countertops as well as new electrical, plumbing, and A/C throughout the home
The home also features a separate guest space above the garage that includes its own kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. Another separate den and office provides additional work space.
Set back from the street in the L.A. neighborhood of Koreatown, the home has lush and mature landscaping in a private, fully-fenced backyard.
The listing is held by Elisa Gil-Osorio of Nourmand & Associates Realtors.
